From afar, it's so sweet to reflect on what lead up to this trip. In the last months, I got to work with some amazing new clients to start the process of rehab from chronic pain.
What stands out (and what I still experience after years of practice) is how even from only a few gentle but specific exercises, each one of these people stood up feeling dramatically different...taller, lighter, looser...and this gave them a sense of joy, their focus and experience of their bodies so different from only moments before.
What a gift, to witness with new eyes the power of subtle, gentle movement. I love the process of exploration with which both myself and my students approach our work together. It's truly a collaborative journey, and everyday is different!
Traveling, for me, is similar. With the unknown unfolding before me, I have a sense of presence to the moment, appreciating the little things that say "hey, you are in a different place, this will expand your sense of home!"
And so it goes when we shift our experience of our body saying "Hey, this home--my body--can be refreshed and my inner experience transformed."
Like the simple but powerful exercises my clients and I did together, sometimes it's the subtle, or little changes we make in our daily lives that carry the biggest effects (versus a trip across the globe). It might be as simple as a few exercises, deep breaths, conversation with a loved friend, or a meditation to transport us to a "better place," (to name just a few).
What are some of the little things in your life that transform you on a daily or weekly basis, helping you set to "Refresh"? I'd LOVE to hear about what you practice daily or weekly that wakes you up, opens your senses, puts a bounce in your step. (Click here and enter your comments, I mean it, I want to hear from YOU!)
